Malika Hobbs -- DOE Program Manager for theDr. Samuel P. Massie Chairs of Excellence Program
Mrs. Hobbs is currently the Program Manager for the $90 million Minority
Serving Institutions Program at the National Nuclear Security
Administration. She is also
the Program Manager for the Dr. Samuel P. Massie Chairs of Excellence
Program which is a $28 million program involving fifteen Historically
Black Colleges and Universities and one Hispanic Serving Institution
that produce cutting cutting-edge research and graduate more that 30% of
the minority engineers in the U.S. Mrs.
Mrs. Hobbs is a Council of Excellence in Government Future Leaders
Fellow. She and her team received the Vice President Gore’s Hammer Award
for outstanding leadership for contributing to building a government
that works better and costs less. She also participates on several
intergovernmental and corporate committees.
She currently serves as the Finance Chairperson of the Advancing
Minorities Interest in Engineering (AMIE) Organization which are Fortune
100 and 500 corporations in partnership with 9 HBCUs. She recently
received the 2010 Women of Color Education Award.
In 2007 Mrs. Hobbs was awarded the Humanitarian Award from the
National Conference of Black Engineers – Washington, D.C. Chapter.
In 2006 at the Black Engineer of the Year Awards conference, Mrs.
Hobbs was recognized for her continued support of minority students in
the fields of science, technology, engineering and math.
She has received several
nominations for Outstanding Woman of the Year and the National
Register’s WHO’S WHO In Executives and Professionals.
